Stabilize Your Smile with a Fixed Porcelain Bridges from Dr. Ajmo

bridgeMissing teeth happen. Sometimes they’re the result of a sudden injury or accident. Other times, illness can play a part. Even oral health-related problems like tooth decay can play role.

The good news, though, if you’ve lost one or more teeth, is that what’s lost can be restored again with a fixed bridge from PGA Center for Advanced Dentistry. A fixed bridge can restore functionality and articulation while keeping your surrounding teeth from shifting. What’s more, because a fixed bridge supports the internal structures of the face, you can look forward to enjoying a more youthful appearance, too.

Options for a Fixed Bridge

But if you’ve been thinking about a fixed bridge, you should be aware that there’s more than one type. The first type is comprised of your replacement tooth (or teeth) with two abutment crowns on either end. These crowns will be permanently joined to two existing teeth to hold your fixed bridge in place. If a thorough oral exam reveals that your abutment teeth are strong, this may be the technique our Palm Beach Gardens office ends up using.

If your surrounding teeth aren’t strong enough, though, we may end up using the second type—an implant-supported bridge. Implant-supported bridges work in much the same way other implant-supported devices, such as crowns or dentures, work. An implant is placed in your jaw, where it bonds naturally with your jawbone, increasing bone tissue production and strengthening your jaw in the process.

But a consultation visit with Dr. Ajmo is the only way for us to know which is most right for you. Call our office today if you’re interested in learning more about fixed bridges or would like to schedule a consultation visit. Dr. Ajmo’s office serves patients from Palm Beach, Juno Beach, Tequesta, West Palm Beach, and Stuart.
