With any full mouth restoration there may be a need to have more than just a veneer made to achieve the optimum results. It’s important the dental lab have a vast range in their abilities. The ability to produce great crown and bridge work coupled with veneers made with the safest materials saves Dr Ajmo from having to use several different labs for one case.
Many leading cosmetic dental practices have their veneers made out of state. Some are even outsourcing over seas to china and other offshore areas. The quality of work and safety of materials is what should matter the most. In a recent study in Ohio, a reporter worked with a local dentist to have 8 crowns (porcelain fused to metal) made. The crowns were sent to an off shore lab in China. Said crowns were then sent to NSL Analytics in Cleveland for testing. One of the crowns did test positive for lead.
The underlying concern should not be where the dental lab work is done, but rather where Dr. Ajmo and his patients can be assured of the quality of work and the safety of the materials used. Rest assured that the quality and safety of our patients is of the highest standard to Dr. Ajmo and his team
Dr Ajmo always uses a local dental laboratory for quicker turnaround, but also he goes local because he can trust our lab to produce the highest standard of quality dental crowns, veneers, and bridges. Our lab posses not only the skills and knowledge required to produce high end cosmetic work, but they abide by the same safety standard Dr. Ajmo and his staff do..
The right patient for dental Veneers must have a clean healthy smile. Upon evaluation for Veneers, Dr Ajmo would also be checking the patient’s mouth to make sure that the teeth and gums are healthy and clean. Veneers are not for every patient. A good candidate must have a good daily hygiene routine, and see their qualified dental hygienist on a regular basis to ensure that the treatment of veneers is successful.
One of the various causes that may contribute to the failure of veneers is Periodontal (gum) diseases. Periodontal means “around the tooth” This is a serious infection that if left untreated, can lead to tooth loss. Periodontal disease is a chronic bacterial infection that can affect one tooth or many teeth. The infection affects the gums around the teeth and the bone supporting the teeth. If left untreated, the bone and ligaments that support the teeth will deteriorate causing the patient to loose the tooth (teeth).
One patient asked “What causes Periodontal Disease?” Harmful bacteria found in the mouth in large quantities forms a sticky white residue known to most people as plaque. Plaque must be removed daily by flossing and brushing to prevent large quantities from building up. Should you fail to daily remove the plaque from your teeth and gums, it will harden to a thick mineral like substance known as calculus or tarter, which only your hygienist can remove at a professional dental cleaning appointment. The toxins that are released from plaque irritate the gums and cause a breakdown of the fibers that hold the gum tissue to your teeth, creating pockets between the teeth and gums. If left untreated, the pockets will extend deeper causing the bacteria to destroy the bone holding the teeth and will eventually lead to the loss of the tooth (teeth).
Routine visits to your dental hygienist, as prescribed by Dr. Ajmo, will ensure your new veneer treatment is a success! Unfortunately, there is NO CURE for periodontal disease, however early detection, diagnosis, and treatment is key to keeping your new Hollywood smile.

Dental Veneers are a very popular treatment in cosmetic dentistry today and are used for either aesthetic purposes or when front teeth are damaged, chipped or broken. A Veneer is a custom fabricated shell (as thin as a contact lense) of ceramic material that has the appearance and translucency of natural teeth. Dental veneers are bonded over the front surface of a tooth to cover up worn down tooth enamel, slightly crooked teeth (instant orthodontics), gaps between teeth, and chiped or cracked teeth. Veneers can be fabricated to any shape or color enabling you to sit down with Dr. Ajmo and design your smile just the way you want. Dental veneers are the classic treatment used to create the much sought after Hollywood smile, or celebrity smile makeover. They can give you a perfectly aligned symmetrical white smile and with the translucent quality of ceramic materials available today they provide a totally natural look.
Our Veneers are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. Dr. Ajmo recommends minimal preparation veneers, which are as thin as a contact lens so that they blend with surrounding teeth to look natural and beautiful.
Dr. Ajmo will thoroughly examine your teeth to first of all ensure that your teeth are clean, healthy and that your gums are free from any signs of periodontal disease. It is very important that your teeth and gums are healthy before undergoing any major dental treatment. Once Dr. Ajmo has had a good look at your teeth he can begin to design your new smile and make it ready for the preparation of your existing teeth to accommodate the veneers.
Usually dental veneers are fitted over a period of 2 visits to the dentist but in some cases it can take up to 3-4 appointments. We look forward to seeing you! Call today for complinentary consultation.
